We invite you to join us for two days of fun packed ideas to enhance your middle and high school programs and increase student learning. Leading educators will challenge you to reach new heights of teaching excellence. Top program presenters lead these interactive sessions, a professional family is created, a terrific time is had by all, and attendees leave inspired and motivated to take their programs to the next level.

Institute presenters include:
• Maria Corte-Southwest District and Arizona High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year
• Greg Brittenham- Was the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the New York Knicks for 20 years and recently retired from the NBA and is the Strength and Conditioning coach for Wake Forest Mens' and Womens' Basketball teams
• Andi McCarthy- Central District and Colorado Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year
• Chris Strater-Brain Based Learning Specialist and Colorado Physical Education Teacher of the Year
• Steve Brittenham and Sue Brittenham-Owners of Athletic Excellence/Physical Education Teacher of the Year

Registration Includes:
• No cost for registration
• Lunch is provided
• $80 per day travel stipend will be provided
• Complete handout packet and supplementary materials
• 16 hours professional development credit offered

LMIS Showcase - A wide variety of activities will take center stage at the Second Annual LMIS Showcase on Thursday, March 15, between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, in the Marriott Hotel. Sponsored by BOKS, Century Council, Hershey Track & Field Games, ING Run For Something Better, Konami and the US Tennis Association, all convention attendees are invited to participate. Hundreds of Boston Public School students will show off their moves, dancing to a hip hop piece set to music by Mozart choreographed by the NDA Educator of the Year, Cindy Jones. Physical educators can get in on the action early by teaching the dance to their students and submitting a video on AAHPERD’s Let’s Move in School Facebook page.

With support from a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), AAPAR seeks participants for a train-the-trainer workshop that will prepare you to instruct other teachers on how to use a fun, effective, instructionally sound bicycle safety curriculum. This curriculum will help reduce bicycle crashes due to rider behavior, increase physical fitness, promote an energy-efficient means of transportation, and increase the numbers of children and, eventually, adults, who safely and enjoyably ride bicycles.

Who are we looking for?

AAPAR is seeking participants for a train-the-trainer workshop that will prepare you to instruct other teachers on how to use a fun, effective, instructionally sound bicycle safety curriculum. Upon completion of the train-the-trainer workshop, participants will be expected to conduct one (1) training workshop in their home area.
