Keynote Address: Nancy Blackwell: "Paying it Forward...Successful Nuggets"
After 23 years of being in education, time STILL flies when you are having ........LEARNING!!!!! This session will share some very helpful nuggets to create an environment to create a healthy learning community. Get the excitement back into education, not just RAH, RAH but researched based strategies to bring the joy back into teaching and learning. Communication is key!!!!!!!! Gain some awareness on how powerful non-verbals are when speaking with classes. Paying it Forward......through modeling with servant leadership. So come get energized to make it a great year!!!!!
Nancy Blackwell is a recovering high school teacher with a Master’s degree in Education. She graduated from San Diego State University. Eight years later her district honored her with “Escondido Teacher of the Year” in 1997. The following year, she was nominated for, “San Diego County Teacher of the Year” representing 20,000 teachers from 33 districts. Before starting her company Longevity of Success she was a facilitator for a premiere accelerated learning company, traveling and training nationally as well as internationally taking her to Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico and Beijing. Currently, she is an adjunct professor at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs teaching and preparing new teachers for the best profession on earth. She enjoys supporting teachers and sharing with them what allowed her to have success in the classroom. In her spare time, she is a trainer for a drop-out prevention program, which is making a huge impact on keeping students connected to school. She is also a trainer for the Time To Teach program which offers support strategies for teacher in the classroom management arena. Nancy is a strong believer in servant leadership and it is an honor for her to be here today to serve you. One of her many mottos is, “Time flies when you are having ……LEARNING”.
